Armor of God (4 of 6): Is Your Faith Shield Raised?

Armor of God Series: Ephesians 6:16 (NKJV)

above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Celebrate your Faith in Jesus today, knowing we don’t have to be in fear because He provides us with the armor to defeat it.

Above all – primary to everything else, we take up, carry it, or raise it. The shield referred to here was actually shaped like a door; a large oblong, and four cornered shield. It would cover, or protect, the whole body, and was made in such a way that would extinguish a flaming arrow, not allowing it to alight the soldier.

Faith is the primary protection here, a defensive piece of armor. Faith is that assurance, belief, moral conviction of the truth of Christ. The evidence of things not seen.

Our Faith in Jesus will allow us to extinguish “all the fiery darts of the wicked one”. False teachings, lies in our mind, the kind of trouble the enemy throws at us to turn us from the truth, or to twist our belief in the savior. Trust in God, have Faith in Him and Him alone as your primary protection against the wickedness around us.
