Armor of God (6 of 6): Are You Speaking Boldly, No Matter What?

Armor of God Series: Ephesians 6:119-20 (NKJV)

and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Paul was a prisoner in Rome and asked for prayer. He didn’t ask for them to pray for his release, or to be set free or pardoned. He was in prison for speaking boldly about Jesus, yet here he asks for prayer that he may have an utterance [from the Holy Spirit], that he boldly shares the gospel.

And he doesn’t refer to himself as a prisoner, but as an ambassador for the King of Kings. While in chains, he desires to have the Holy Spirit give him the words for his defense of Christianity, and to share the Gospel of Jesus, Boldly, as he knows he “ought to speak”.

What an amazing example of keeping your eyes on Jesus, desiring to minister the Good News, and with an incredible mindset of who he is, no matter where he is or what situation he is in – an Ambassador for Jesus.

Let’s be ambassadors for Jesus in all we do, no matter what our circumstances are, relying on the Holy Spirit to give us an utterance to share the Gospel!
