Armor of God – 6-Day Devotional Series Overview

Armor of God – A 6-Day Devotional Series
Ephesians 6:10–20 (NKJV)

Day 1: Are You Fighting with the Right Armor?

Ephesians 6:10-13

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil..."

Paul tells us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might—especially in this “present evil age.” We are not fighting in our strength, but in His. That’s why we’re called to put on the whole armor of God—not just pieces. Our struggle isn’t against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness.

We have to do something—actively put on this armor so we can stand firm. Victory comes from His power, but it requires our obedience and preparation.

Day 2: Are You Wearing Truth and Righteousness?

Ephesians 6:14

"Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness..."

In ancient times, men wore long garments and had to gird their waist for battle. Paul uses this image to say that truth is our spiritual belt—holding everything in place and keeping us from getting entangled in lies. Without it, we fall.

The breastplate of righteousness protects the heart and vital organs. It’s not our righteousness—but Christ’s, received by faith (Philippians 3:9). When we walk in truth and trust in His righteousness, we are protected from the enemy’s attacks on our identity and worth.

Day 3: Are Your Feet Ready for Battle…?

Ephesians 6:15

"...and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;"

The gospel equips us and makes us ready for battle. Jesus showed us this in the wilderness—He met every temptation with the truth of the Word: “It is written…” (Matthew 4:1–11).

To be ready, we must know the gospel, study it, and speak it. It brings peace to us, and through us, to others. Your feet need to be grounded in God’s Word and willing to move wherever He leads to carry peace into chaos.

Day 4: Is Your Faith Shield Raised?

Ephesians 6:16

"Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."

The Roman shield was large—able to protect the whole body and even extinguish flaming arrows. Faith is our first line of defense. Not feelings. Not opinions. Faith.

Faith in Jesus quenches the enemy’s attacks: lies, temptations, distractions. Without it, we’re open targets. But with it, we are covered. Trusting God above all is what shields us from being shaken.

Day 5: Are You Armed with the Word and Covered in Prayer?

Ephesians 6:17–18

"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always..."

The helmet guards our minds—the hope of salvation keeps our thoughts anchored and protected. The sword is our only offensive weapon: the spoken Word of God (Rhema). When we declare Scripture by faith, empowered by the Spirit, the enemy is defeated.

But armor isn’t enough. Paul adds prayer—every kind of prayer. We must stay in constant communication with God, praying in the Spirit, and interceding for others. It’s how we activate our armor and move in power.

Day 6: Are You Speaking Boldly, No Matter What?

Ephesians 6:19–20

"...that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains..."

Paul was in chains, but he didn’t ask for freedom—he asked for boldness. He saw himself not as a prisoner, but as an ambassador for Christ.

No matter your circumstances, you’re still on mission. We’re called to speak boldly, trust the Spirit for utterance, and carry the Gospel with courage. Your situation doesn’t define you—your identity in Christ does.
